Reading! Writing! Reciting!
Participants will: * Cultivate a deeper knowledge of literature by reading several great poems and relating these texts to contemporary leadership issues. From Seuss to Shakespeare, we will discover words that have changed the world and can transform our lives. * Discover themselves and a sense of mission by writing their own poetic lines. From rhythm to metaphor, we will explore the literary devices great communicators use to express themselves. * Experience the power of the spoken word by reciting great poems, as well as some verse of their own. We will practice the rhetorical techniques effective orators use to move their audience. "We may not all be poets, but everyone has poetry!"
