Seriously Playing

with WORDS !

Seriously Playing With Words harnesses the playful power of poetry to help business leaders see the world imaginatively and express themselves artfully.

Poetry is more than words on a page. It's not just a subject in school. It's a power everyone can use to develop a unique and dynamic voice.

Seriously Playing with Words helps leaders discover themselves and become powerful communicators. Workshops are musical, theatrical, poetical and whimsical. It's great fun for leaders who are serious about their work.

He has a BS in Business Administration, a Masters of Divinity and a BA in English. He's been a banker, a youth minister and a high school English teacher, and in 1997 he founded A Child's Voice, a company dedicated to building literacy in people of all ages.        Reading! Writing! Reciting!

Participants will:

* Cultivate a deeper knowledge of literature by reading several great poems and relating these texts to contemporary leadership issues. From Seuss to Shakespeare, we will discover words that have changed the world and can transform our lives.

* Discover themselves and a sense of mission by writing their own poetic lines. From rhythm to metaphor, we will explore the literary devices great communicators use to express themselves.

* Experience the power of the spoken word by reciting great poems, as well as some verse of their own. We will practice the rhetorical techniques effective orators use to move their audience.
