The Bogeyman Band

Everyone is afraid of something, but the bogeyman shouldn't be one of them.
You see, the bogeyman isn't real, he's just a metaphor for whatever you fear.

Are you afraid of spiders and snakes? That's your bogeyman.
Does lightning and thunder send you under your covers? There's your bogeyman.
Everyone has a bogeyman, no matter how big or strong they are, no matter what they say.

Check out my poem, The Bogeyman Band, don't be afraid. It's here to help you overcome your fears.
When I was a student, I was terrified of writing. But once my teachers helped me understand some of the mysteries, I fell in love with it. Now I write every day!

Don't let your fears hold you back.

After you watch my video a few times, try writing a poem today and address it to your bogeyman.

This video was created by my favorite former student, Matt Sandbank. He's the founder and director of Matt Sandbank's Shadow Factory. He lights up the imaginations of children and adults with his shadow puppet shows. His work is full of poetic wit, wonder and whimsy. I love him, and you will too. Check out his website and contact Matt today.
